Let’s be honest: usually, when you buy a budget guitar, you’re essentially paying for a DIY kit that requires a weekend of swearing and three trips to a luthier just to make it playable. Not so with the Harley Benton SC Special. I call it 'The Dirty Mustard DC,' and frankly, the price-to-quality ratio here is so insane it makes high-end manufacturers look like they’re running a sophisticated mugging operation. Out of the box, it had the best setup of any guitar I’ve ever received; low action, no fret sprout, and a 60s C-profile neck that feels like it actually wants to be held. But the real soul of this thing lies in the Roswell P90s; they’ve got that perfect, gritty growl that cuts through a mix like a cynical remark at a Coldplay concert.
